Summary: Japanese evil spirits sort of outclass the ones we have in the west. They just never seem to hold anything back. And while they have their rings and their grudges, let's pour one for one of their obscure folks.

History: Taeko Matsuzaki was an incredibly troubled mother prone to fits of insanity. After killing all but one of her kids, she begged her last child to decapitate her so that she wouldn’t haunt the living from beyond the grave. Alas, the kid slit her mouth and stabbed her to death instead, and from there on out, Taeko rose as a Kuchisake-onna, an evil spirit bent on kidnapping children and slitting their mouths too.

Notable Kills: She slits mouths. That's all you get.

Final Fate: At first, it seems that Taeko's reign is over when she's decapitated for real this time. But then, it is shown that she's possessed another woman again. Damn.

Powers/Abilities: Can possess others for a time until they're dead.

Weakness: None.

Scariness Factor: 4.5-Okay first off, what the hell happened to your face?! That is no sight for sore eyes! Oh, and that face belongs to an evil spirit with no staying weakness that targets almost exclusively children. Pleasant dreams to you!

Trivia: -This film got a sequel that acted as a prequel of sorts, but it followed a completely different Kuchisake-onna. Specifically, a woman who got on the receiving end of a splash of sulfuric acid.

-Kuchisake-onna, literally "Slit-Mouthed Woman" in Japanese, is an evil Yokai that asks her victim is she's pretty or not. If they answer no, they die. If they answer yes, they get their mouth slit the same way. But if one says that she looks okay or distracts her with material wealth, they survive.
